We observe a holy Lent by offering ourselves to God, by repentance, by prayer, fasting, self-denial, and by reading the Scriptures. In recognition of our need for God, let us rededicate ourselves to him, our Creator and Redeemer. This week, we continue our Lenten Disciplines of renewal, prayer, fasting, and self-examination: using our devotional guide “The Forty Days of Lent: Return to the Lord Your God,” weekly setting aside our sacrificial offering to be brought in on Easter Sunday, and the Wesleyan Pattern of Prayer and Fasting on Fridays by praying while consuming no solid foods until mid-afternoon.

 

Please pray for our distribution of Easter Care Packages for deserving families in our community and for our Easter Egg Hunt, both scheduled for Saturday, April 19. Donations of cash or snacks are needed to host the children, while volunteers are needed to help put the care packages together at 1 pm, to put out the Easter Eggs at 2 pm, and to run the Easter Egg hunt and hand out the care packages at 4 pm.

Next Sunday, April 13, is Palm Sunday and is the beginning of Holy Week.
